  We walked up with no reservation at 1:00pm on a Saturday. We were seated right away and brought water. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean, one faucet broken and making quite a racket that could be heard in the dining room (don't know why they didn't turn the water off and put a note it was out of order, but it was largely ignored), and a stall had no paper. We ordered a seasonal appetizer of stuffed squash blossoms, they were only OK, very greasy (drizzled with oil maybe) and only mild in flavor. Our lunch entrees were also only OK. The lasagna tomato sauce didn't have a lot of flavor and not enough Italian seasoning. Burger was done correctly but not anything special. The salmon sandwich was good, fresh. Overall it was an ok to good meal that was overpriced. The wait staff were friendly but underdressed. Leggings aren't pants under a short shirt. A knotted tshirt with belly showing is inappropriate really. The three of us decided it wasn't noteworthy enough to return to considering the price.

  My wife and I dine out a lot, and she is an excellent cook. We simply love good food, and I am only putting my name to this review because Caffe Boa is one of the best restaurants--food, drink, service, atmosphere--we have been to in all the cities we have lived in, and that includes San Francisco, home to many fine restaurants. Caffe Boa would stack up to those, so I don't know why they are only getting 3.5 stars. Do you like food that tastes amazing? Pasta so fresh and delicate that it melts in your mouth? How about their vanilla gelato with pumpkin seed oil for dessert? Their Intelligent and friendly staff actually love where they work, and they pass on this feeling. I don't even look at the bill because it's worth every penny, and quality over quantity is what we look for. Again, I am not sure what others are finding fault with, but we will continue to go back again and again. If you are a lone diner, you will love sitting at the cozy bar. Cheers!
